Countdown to REALM MAKERS

Two weeks, y’all! TWO weeks!!!

Realm Makers Conference & Expo: Exhibits, Creators, Fans
July 18-20, DeVos Place Convention Center, Grand Rapids, MI

Two weeks until Christian Creatives at all stages and from around the world gather to encourage, educate, celebrate, and enjoy each other. Realm Makers truly is my tribe, but not an exclusionary one. We’re eager to welcome new members into our company. I have been the newbie author, clueless to how much I didn’t know, and have been incredibly blessed by Realmies over the years. I’ve also loved opportunities to meet freshmen, share words that encouraged me, and walk the author’s path with them.

This year we’re expanding with Realm Makers Expo, an exciting fan convention celebrating creativity across fantasy and sci-fi books, gaming, comics, audio-drama, and film. The expo will offer free preview screenings, industry sessions with artists, panel discussions, and opportunities to meet your next favorite author!

One of my favorite Realm Maker experiences is meeting readers who become friends—people who’ve taken the dive into the World of Water’s Break and have enjoyed the ride. If this sounds like you, and we haven’t met, please reach out, especially if our paths cross.

What Kind of SCI is Your FI?

SPACE…
The final frontier.
These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise.
Its five year mission:
- To explore strange new worlds
- To seek out new life and new civilizations
- To boldly go where no one has gone before.

So… what kind of Science Fiction do you write/do you like?

Do you love the western cowboy in space stories?
Are you all about the starship and its voyages?
Me? I’m more of a strange new world and seek out new life kinda author.

All this to say that there are tons of approaches to Science Fiction, and even more ways to categorize them.

Here’s a fun list of science fiction subgenres. Which are closest to what you write or read?
Let me know or post in the comments.
